Is this an accredited program?
- Yes. All credits received will be applied towards a Certificate of Completion in Individualized Technical Studies from FVTC. Credits can be applied toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in Construction Equipment Technology or EPG & Marine Engine Technology.
What are tuition costs?
- Estimated tuition costs range from $3410 to $7460.00 depending on the career track chosen. Out-of-state residents pay WI tuition.
Are there any additional fees that apply beyond tuition?
- FABTECH students will be provided the use of tools and clean uniforms daily
at no additional cost. Course materials, Student ID cards, locks, housing,
and meal options are expenses that are not covered in the tuition fees
Is financial assistance available?
- Financial Aid is available for those students that qualify. Additional information can be obtained with the FVTC Financial Aid Office.
Top students in the program may be eligible for additional financial incentives.
Where is the FABTECH Service Technician Education Center located?
- The FABTECH Education Center is located on the FVTC Spanbauer Campus in Oshkosh, WI.
Are there Room and Board options available?
- Yes, affordable dormitory accommodations are available for FABTECH students at the Gruenhagen Center on the University of WI Oshkosh Campus. The Gruenhagen Center is located only minutes from the FABTECH education center.
All rooms are single occupancy and furnished with beds, desk, dresser, closet, microwave, refrigerator, cable TV access and internet access.
An attractive full-service dining hall with a variety of economical meal plans is available to all FABTECH students.
What is the FABTECH schedule?
- The FABTECH program begins in late August and depending upon what career track you choose you will graduate in one year or less. While others are still attending school, you can be out making money doing what you love as a skilled FABCO Caterpillar certified diesel technician.
Will this program provide all the education and development that I need to be a successful Service Technician?
- Yes. You will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to be an entry level Caterpillar dealer service technician. FABCO Service Technicians also receive additional paid training to help them stay on the cutting edge of equipment and diesel engine technology.
Will I need to purchase tools?
- FABTECH students will be provided the use of tools necessary for lab training. Upon graduation students will be provided with the opportunity to purchase tools at dealer cost. Interest free, payroll deduction options are available.
