![]() 6 SigmaSince 2004, 6 Sigma has taken root at FABCO as a business philosophy and methodology to direct how we affect positive change within our organization. It has given us a common language and process to solve our business and transactional challenges and has helped us to understand what we need to do to improve. 6 Sigma, developed by Motorola, focuses on eliminating defects from business processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction - for both internal and external customers. The technical definition of 6 Sigma is a statistical measure of quality equaling 3.4 defects per million opportunities. 6 Sigma in practice however is much more than statistics. 6 Sigma provides a way for FABCO to define and clarify our business strategy and identify the key elements needed to succeed at this strategy. 6 Sigma helps us identify success factors critical to our business and map strategic areas that we need to improve upon to reach these critical goals. 6 Sigma projects are used to address gaps between where we are currently with our performance levels and where we need to be to achieve our goals. Implementing 6 Sigma has helped FABCO deliver greater value for our customers, greater satisfaction for our employees and greater return for the organization. Change within any organization is difficult, ours is no different. 6 Sigma has provided FABCO an avenue to introduce change in a structured manner and involve the abilities of all FABCO employees to make us a better, stronger organization, more able to serve our customers.
