FABCO's History

FABCO's founder, Joseph G. Fabick (pictured above), got an early start in the equipment industry.

FABCO's experience in the sales and service of equipment and engines dates back to the year 1917, when the late John Fabick, Sr. founded the first Fabick Company in St. Louis Missouri. Originally, the company merchandised Cletrac crawler tractors and John Deere farm implements. In 1921, John Fabick expanded his business to include tractors manufactured by C. L. Best. Four years later, C. L. Best and Holt Manufacturing merged to form what has become the largest and most respected manufacturer of equipment and engines in the world, Caterpillar Inc.

From this early beginning, the association between Fabick and Caterpillar continued to grow. In 1982, Caterpillar elected to consolidate dealer territories in the State of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and awarded representation of Caterpillar products and service to one experienced dealership. The newly formed FABCO Equipment Inc. was founded by Joseph G. Fabick, then President of John Fabick Tractor Co., St. Louis, Missouri. Jeré Fabick (Joseph's son) started with FABCO in 1982 and has since served in a wide range of positions with the company. Jeré is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer with overall responsibilities for operations at all FABCO locations.
