Caterpillar Certified Rebuilds

When most competitive models would require replacement, Cat® equipment can be rebuilt to deliver a cost-effective second life! Rebuild or replace? FABCO’s rebuild programs offer equipment owners several lower-cost alternatives to purchasing new machines.

• A Caterpillar Certified Rebuild is the most complete procedure. The old machine is completely disassembled, and all non-metal components are replaced. Some large metal components (frames, rippers, blocks, etc.) can be reconditioned and reused. This is the most expensive of FABCO's three equipment rebuild procedures, but is far less than the cost of a new machine.

• A Certified Powertrain Rebuild is similar to the full Certified Rebuild, but includes only components that are part of the powertrain. Many machine owners find that the Certified Powertrain Rebuild strikes the right balance between price and performance requirements.

• A Second-Life Rebuild is usually the least expensive of the three options. It generally involves a combination of rigorous inspections and reconditioning or replacing parts and components as appropriate.

Machine Components

To take advantage of the "second life" built into every Caterpillar component; our rebuild center can rebuild or repair components from turbochargers to entire engines, torque converters and transmissions. Each rebuild is made to exacting Caterpillar factory standards and all engines are dynamometer tested. All rebuilt transmissions are performance verified on our hydraulic test bench, assuring you of the most accurate factory tolerances on repairs. These in-house services provide you with a quality repair, fast turnaround and maximum value.

Weld/Bore

FABCO's Automated Weld/Bore Process is a better, stronger and more cost-effective way to rebuild out-of-round bores from machine frame articulation joints to loader arms and buckets. An out-of-round bore is machined back to round and welded with one precise, consistent bead of weld, then machined to the manufacturer's original specifications - all in one setup. And the entire unit is portable, so repairs can be done in our shop or on site.

Hydraulics

Hydraulic repair services available from FABCO include cylinder repair, pump rebuild and custom hose assembly. Our specialized hydraulic cylinder equipment speeds disassembly and assembly, saving you time and money. FABCO provides light honing of worn cylinders to clean up scratches and imperfections that can cut the performance of your hydraulic system and accelerate seal wear.

Custom Track

Our Track Shop was designed specifically for undercarriage rebuilding, using production line techniques. Exchange rollers, idlers and sprockets as well as a complete inventory of new undercarriage components are always on hand for the next job. Our technicians take pride in the specialty and are prepared to turn out your job quickly.
